Where is Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure Located?

Hagrid’s is located in Universal’s Islands of Adventure park. Within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Hagrid’s is inside Hogsmeade on your right, just after you pass the outdoor Hogwarts Express train.

It’s important to note that sometimes the line for Hagrid’s starts in the Lost Continent land, so make sure to keep an eye out for Team Member’s holding a sign as you’re entering Hogsmeade.

To get to Hagrid’s from the front of the park, you’ll take your first right, go through Seuss Landing (a left when you get into Seuss Landing) and basically follow the main path to Hogsmeade.

Does Hagrid’s Accept Express Pass?

Hagid’s Motorbike Adventure does not accept Universal Express Pass. There is a standby line, single-rider line, DAS, and child swap available for this attraction.

You can expect to wait at least one hour for this attraction in the regular standby line. On busy park days, or during peak season, the wait time is normally over an hour and a half long.

The single-rider lane has a shorter wait time, but your party will be separated. It’s also important to note that single-rider isn’t always open. Hagrid’s single rider line throughout the day based on how busy the ride is, and how long the wait times are.

Is Single-Rider Line Faster for Hagrid’s?

Technically, Hagrid’s single rider line is faster than the regular standby line. Any attraction that only has 2 seats per row is going to have a single rider line that doesn't run as efficiently. Why? Most parties are an even number, so single-rider on Hagrid’s can get backed up.

For me personally- I always have bad luck and have to wait wayyy longer when I get into single-rider line. Its also important to note that single-rider often times gets put in the side car.

Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure seats two people per row, and there are seven rows in total. One person chooses the side car, and the other rides on the Motorbike.

Note— If you are wearing a robe, you have to ride in the side car.

Tips for Waiting The Least Amount of Time in Line for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure:

  • Use the single-rider line when its available

  • Try riding around peak lunchtimes when everyone is heading to grab a bite to eat

  • Get in line right before park closing

  • Hop in line right after Hagrid’s reopens due to a weather delay or technical difficulty

  • Don’t be afraid to ride it during the rain. Often times, if it doesn’t go down due to weather, the wait will be a little shorter.

  • If visiting during the Holiday season, sometimes Hagrid’s will have a shorter wait when everyone is over in Universal Studios Florida watching the Macy’s Holiday Parade.

Strategy for Riding Hagrid’s When Islands of Adventure Has Early Park Admission:

One of the best ways to ride Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure with little wait is to use Universal Orlando Early Admission.

Early Park Admission allows guests to enter the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in either Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure an hour before general admission. Getting into the park before regular admission guests gives you a head start on the day, particularly if you’re visiting during peak season.

When Islands of Adventure has EPA- that early hour lets you ride Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure before regular guests even enter the park. You could then head over to knock out riding Velocicoaster.

How to Best Utilize Early Park Admission for Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure:

Plan to arrive 45 mins to 1 hour before early park admission even starts.

The goal is to be one of the first guests at the turnstiles. That way you’re not stuck behind a family who can’t remember what finger they used to scan in… causing tons of guess to blow right by you.

It’s important to note that frequently during Early Park Admission the line for Hagrid’s starts in the Lost Continent land. Make sure to keep an eye out for Team Member’s holding a sign for the ride before entering Hogsmeade.

Strategy for Riding Hagrid’s When There’s No Early Park Admission in Islands of Adventure:

Always check the status of Hagrid’s Ride on the day(s) of your visit is to use the official Universal Orlando app via your smartphone. The app which will display the current wait time, or if the ride is has a delayed.

Without Early Park Admission, still plan to be at the turnstiles at least 60 minutes before the park officially opens. Often times, Universal Orlando will start to let guests in 10-15 minutes before the park opens.

Once you scan your ticket through the turnstiles, BOOK it to Hagrid’s with your Fanny pack to get on quickly. (You’ll bypass all the guests in front of you who need a locker)

If You’re Not a Morning Person, & You’re Staying On-Site:

Aim to ride Hagrid’s during peak lunch time, and/or right before park closing. If you are in line, they let you ride. Wait times are typically less than what is posted at closing, shorter than they are during the morning/day, and the ride is AMAZING at night.
