How to Use Mobile Food Ordering at Universal Orlando Resort Your complete 2022 Guide

If you’re visiting Universal Orlando Resort anytime soon, it’s in your best interest to at least know how mobile ordering works.

Universal has seen a huge increase in crowd levels, and as a result, mobile food ordering is being strongly encouraged at various locations inside Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.

Don't fret!  Universal Orlando's mobile ordering is super easy and convenient. Once you're hungry, you can start placing your order as you're walking to the desired restaurant.

Why You Should Utilize Mobile Ordering at Universal Orlando

Extremely helpful for large families or groups, particularly when everyone wants to eat something different.

Mobile Ordering will help keep the hangry meltdowns at bay.

If you’ve got food allergies, you can make specific notes + requests while placing your mobile order. The chef will come to your table after ordering to discuss further.

Is Mobile Food Ordering Required at Universal Orlando?

While not mandatory, There are some locations requiring you to have  placed your order before entering the restaurant.

Currently, The Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley is enforcing this. Anytime after breakfast, you'll find a Team Member stationed outside checking your mobile order number before they'll let go inside.

How to Use Mobile Ordering at Universal Orlando Resort

First you'll need to download the official Universal Orlando Resort app. Make sure it's updated to the latest version, as sometimes it'll be glitchy if not up to date.

 Pro Tip: After downloading the app, and before your trip, add your card information. You’ll avoid any potential frustration if for some reason you left your card in the hotel room, or if you have a bad wifi connection.

Follow These Easy Mobile Ordering Steps:

Once you have the app open:

Click search on the upper left hand side.

Select Mobile Food & Drink Ordering. It'll pull up the restaurant options where mobile ordering is offered.

Participating mobile order restaurants are labeled either "Pickup", "Table Delivery," or both.

If the restaurant is designated as "Table Delivery," you'll need to wait to order until you're seated at a table because it will ask for your table number.

Once you make a selection, browse through the menu.

This is where you’ll be able to scroll to see the prices and ingredients of each item.

When you click on an item, it will ask you to select the quantity. Depending on the food item, you’ll also choose your sides or toppings.

If you have any food allergies, there’s a dedicated option to click on.

Confirm your order details and check out by entering your card information (if you haven’t already saved it).

This is also where you'll manually add your Annual Pass number.

After you place your order, you don’t have to head to the restaurant immediately.

Places like the Leaky Cauldron, you'll have to show the Team Member stationed out front your order number before entering.

The kitchen won’t start preparing your food until you hit Prepare My Order.

This is very convenient  if you’re coming from the other side of the park.

After you press Prepare My Order, you can check the order status to see when it’s ready to be picked up, or delivered to your table.

Universal Annual Pass Discount

The Universal Orlando app doesn't automatically apply your Annual Passholder discount when Mobile Ordering. You’ll need to scan the back of your AP, or enter your AP number manually before placing your order.
