Universal Orlando’s Closing 5 Iconic Attractions in 2023!

"Universal Orlando Resort will soon begin work on bringing exciting new family entertainment to Universal Studios Florida that will immerse guests in the adventures of beloved animated characters. To make way for these new additions, parts of the KidZone area is permanently closing."

Universal Studios Florida plans to revamp the KidZone area by removing several older, iconic play areas that longer draw enough crowds.

KidZone attractions permanently closing on Jan. 16, 2023:

🛝 Fievel’s Playland
🎢 Woody Woodpecker’s Coaster
💦 Curious George Goes to Town
🪩 DreamWorks Destination
💚 Shrek & Donkey Meet & Greet

🗓️ The final day these attractions will operate is Jan 15, 2023.

For families with littles not meeting a lot of the ride height requirements at UO, this hurts.
Universal Orlando Resort hasn’t revealed what new attractions will replace the KidZone area of the park.

If you’re a rumors person— Secret Life of Pets, creating a dedicated Shrek land, an entire Trolls area, or even re-theming KidZone to DreamWorks animated characters have all been speculated.

E.T. Adventure, Animal Actors on Location!, SpongeBob StorePants & KidZone Pizza Company will remain open. No word on how it will/could affect Halloween Horror Nights.
